Privacy policy
Short version: Figbook collects nothing about you, and your books, your place in them and your notes stay on your device.
The app
- It collects nothing. There is no account, no identifier, no analytics and no crash reporting.
- It makes no network requests. On Mac it runs in Apple’s sandbox with no permission to use the network; on Android it does not ask for internet access.
- Your books, listening positions and notes stay on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Device backups. If you back up your device (for example to iCloud, Google or Time Machine), your notes, listening positions and settings are part of that backup, under the terms of whoever stores it. On iPhone and Android the imported books themselves are left out of the backup, so after restoring a phone you import them again; your positions and notes are kept.
- Notes leave the app only when you export them. What happens to an exported file is up to you and the app you share it with.
- Other devices and the lock screen. When you play to an AirPlay or Bluetooth device, that device receives the audio and the title. The lock screen and the system’s media controls show the title and the section, as they do for any player.
